Gerald and Hope Gonzales became Senior Pastors of Hosanna Assembly of God in Dec 2002. They have been married for 29 years and have three children, Cynthia, Jerry and Sarah. All are serving the Lord and work along side their parents in a place of leadership at Hosanna. Pastor Gerald is a graduate of the Assembly of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, MO. He holds a Master of Divinity as well as two Master of Arts Degrees in Christian Education and Pastoral Counseling. Throughout his 20 years serving in ministry, his experience and roles have ranged from a U.S. Navy Chaplain, Bible College Professor, Hospital Chaplain to local church minister. His wife, Hope, is a warm and compassionate woman with a loving heart. She serves as the leader of Women’s Ministries at Hosanna. Their driving passion is to build and transform the lives of the unchurched by introducing them to the saving message of Jesus Christ. Pastor Gerald is a gifted visionary and he and his family desire to see Hosanna grow into a place of influence in the community of San Antonio.

Worship Team Director

Cynthia Gonzales has served as Hosanna’s Director of Worship & Creative Arts Ministry for the past four years and has been a vital part of the leadership team. Cynthia is 28 years old and the eldest daughter of Pastor Gerald and Hope Gonzales. She has made music an integral part of her life since she was a child. As a teenager, Cynthia continued studies in music, singing in choir, and playing flute. She holds a B.S. in Nursing from the University of Incarnate Word and is currently a Registered Nurse. She is currently perusing a degree in Music, after which she will obtain her Master of Arts Degree in Worship & Creative Arts. As Worship Pastor, Cynthia leads worship every week for Hosanna and aims to motivate the congregation to greater intimacy in their relationship with God. Her passion in life is leading people into the presence of God and seeing them realize their full potential in Him.

Discipleship Team Director

Sarah Gonzales serves as the Discipleship Pastor of Hosanna. She is 25 years old and is the youngest daughter of Pastor Gerald and Hope Gonzales’ children. Sarah oversees the entire Christian Education Department which extends her leadership responsibilities to include, Nursery, “Just 4 Kids” Children’s Ministry, Z-life Youth Ministry, Sunday Discipleship Classes, Midweek WNFL Classes, Leadership training and workshops. Sarah is pursuing a B.A. in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and will obtain a Master of Divinity specializing in Discipleship Formation. Sarah has served in Children’s Ministry for eight years and has a reputation for excellence. She is a gifted leader who is constantly working on strategies to encourage growth and stability in all programs of Hosanna. Her passion is to see young people and new believers discover who they are in Christ and reach their full potential in Him.
