Discipleship Ministries

Hosanna  Assembly of God Church has established a Discipleship Process whereby God's people are established on a firm foundation to build their faith, in order to grow and develop into mature strong Christians across the life span.

 SUNDAY DISCIPLESHIP CLASSES:

Sunday Discipleship Classes 200 are taught each Sunday at 9:30 am by gifted Bible teachers. These classes have their focus as a continuing Bible education for growing disciples.

WE BUILD PEOPLE DISCIPLESHIP CLASSES:

These are Hosanna's Church initial Discipleship classes. Classes are taught on Sunday morning at 9:30 am. These classes focuses on a  methodical way of introducing people to Hosanna Church and establishing people on a life-long learning process as maturing Disciples of Christ. Classes include:

New Believers Foundation Class 100: This class is designed for establishing a foundation for one's faith and relationship with Christ.
Discovering Church Membership Class 101: This class seeks to establish new members of Hosanna Church.
Discovering Spiritual Maturity Class 201: This class is committed to developing the habits of Spiritual Maturity.
Exploring Personal Ministry Class 301: This class is focused on exploring Spiritual Gifts and Ministry at Hosanna Church.
Discovering My Life Mission 401: This class seeks to helping people living out Christ Mission in the world by becoming Global Christians.
Developing Leaders Class 500-505: These classes are to equip people to be servant leaders of Ministry Teams at Hosanna Church.
 

WEDNESDAY NIGHT FOR LEARNING (WNFL):

The Senior Pastor and other gifted Bible teachers teach a variety of Bible Classes on Wednesday Night at 7:00 pm. These classes have their focus as a continuing Bible education for growing disciples.

KOINONIA SEASONAL SMALL GROUPS:

These small groups are designed around the church year for a focused Spiritual Formation in a home setting from six to eight weeks on Sunday nights.

Easter/Lent Small Group: This group usually meets in February - March and focuses on topics related to the Cross and Resurrection of Christ, preparing a person for Easter.
Pentecost Small Group: This  group meets in April - May focusing on topics related to the Church and Holy Spirit preparing a person for Pentecost.
Christian Life Small Group: This group meets in September - October focusing on topics related to Christian living, preparing a person to be Christ-like.
Advent/Christmas: This group meets from the last Sunday in November - December focusing on topics related to the incarnation of Christ, preparing a person for Christmas.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS:

These seminars and workshops are offered to the Church and area community to meet the needs of people going through crisis experiences and much needed Community Spiritual renewal. These classes are usually 1- 2 days in length and are offered in the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer Seasons.

Honor Bound Men's Ministry

VISION

Hosanna Men's Ministries is a Community of Men whose vision is to Reach other Men to Glorify God, To Mature Men through Discipleship, To Raise up each new generation of Men to Serve as Leaders in their Family, Church, Community, and in the World.

THE MISSION

To provide men with resources to develop godly character and to equip them to take the Kingdom of God into their homes and their market place.

Why expend the effort to minister to men? Because Jesus did. Jesus honored and welcomed women and children, but a major focus of His ministry was – and still should be – men. If the church is going to take the Kingdom of God into the market place . . . if the church is going to be a catalyst for community transformation, then the church must elevate its focus on men. The spiritual development of men must be one of its top priorities.

What are the natural gifts men bring to Kingdom advancement? Men have an expansionist outlook . . . they make things happen. They are oriented toward risk. Their focus is directed outward, and they want to be part of something larger than themselves. Structure and pragmatism come naturally to them. Men are often  able to underwrite Kingdom work financially. Men bring their families to church.

Men want to serve God! They need to be recruited, prepared, and released to express Kingdom values in their natural aggressive and masculine fashion.

VISION

Hosanna Women’s ministry is a community of women who exists to mentor other women into a life pleasing to God while showing love to all and to raise up new generations of women to influence and serve in their family, church, job and community.

PROGRAMS

Women's Life Groups
Women delight in friendship; they're wired for relationship and the 'girlfriend thing' seems to be woven into their DNA. When women get together their potential is amazing. Laughing, talking, learning and loving come naturally, and even crying together can bring forth hidden gold. Proverbs 14:1 says, 'Every wise woman builds her home (her world, her sphere of influence) and a foolish one tears it down with her own hands.' We want to resource you to build your life, by positioning you with great teaching and friends. Be a part of a true spiritual family…find a place to belong in Women’s Life Group. Let’s Do Life Together!

Hosanna Women!
A 'welcome mat' awaits you and your friends At Hosanna Women! Women’s Fellowship. We recognize that life is too fleeting, precious and magnificent to do alone. Once a month we labor to create an environment that will refresh, equip and enable you to do life beautifully. The morning starts at 9.30am with coffee and light refreshments. A company of great women promise to make even the shiest woman feel welcome. Arrive early and enjoy the friendly atmosphere, yummy food and relax. 10am launches a time of passionate worship and inspiring lifestyle teaching. All of the women who grace our platform are down-to-earth girls who love God, love life and delight in His Word. We aim at presenting biblical principles in a manner that relates to 21st century life. There is always time given for prayer and personal support, should you need it.

GIRLFRIEND NIGHTS

Girlfriends doing life is all about making connections with each other, and having fun!  Once a quarter the girls of Hosanna spend an evening out on the town.  Leave the kids and husbands at home and come out with us for a great time of fun, laughter, and fellowship.  Bring your friends and make new ones with the girlfriends of Hosanna!

CHARMED INFLUENCE

"Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.  Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign in the word of God."

This is the heart beat of our women’s ministry. Influencing other women into a pleasing lifestyle to God is one of the greatest mandates godly women have in the church. Through mentoring friendships, we give the women of Hosanna the opportunity to experience support in their Christian life.  Mentors are Christian women who regularly attend Hosanna and desire to be godly role models.  Mentees are spiritually younger women of Hosanna who desire godly wisdom, guidance and encouragement.  All ages are welcome.  The Bible instructs us to teach the next generation of Christian women the things that we've been taught.

I6 Singles' Ministry

WHO WE ARE:

I6 is the Single Adult Ministry of Hosanna Church whose vision is to Reach out to other single adults by building Relationships that Honor God, and to Grow in one's faith by exploring and discovering the teachings of the bible, that lead to Serving on a ministry team in the Church.

GET INVOLVED:

Monthly Gatherings: Gathering of Single Adults for Fellowship

Wednesday Night Bible Study Class: 7:00pm in the Church Sanctuary

Koinonia Small Groups: Seasonal small groups who meet in the homes of singles for worship, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and outreach.

Sunday Discipleship Class: 9:30am in the Church Sanctuary

Sunday Lunch: 1st & 3rd Sunday of the month held at local area restaurants after the 11:00AM church service.  Locations will be in the church bulletin and at information counters located in the Sanctuary Foyer.

 Creative Arts Ministries

WHO WE ARE

Hosanna Assembly Of God Creative Arts ministry aims to design an atmosphere for Sunday worship, Seasonal productions, Children's ministry and Outreach events that inspires each person to encounter the presence of God in a meaningful and uplifting way by using your talents to glorify God in these creative art forms.

CREATIVE ARTS MINISTRY TEAMS

Drama/ Theatre Ministry:
Use your God-given talents as a visual artist, actor, or costume designer to promote God's word in unique, creative, inspiring manners. This team serves regularly in our Sunday programming, seasonal productions, and outreach events.

Visual Arts Team:
This Ministry seeks to worship God through the use of creative art forms such as (Photography, Ceramic, Video, Painting, Art and Crafts, and Sculpting.

Puppet Ministry:
This ministry seeks to involve individuals in the puppet ministry to children in Children Church, VBS, and outreach events

Literary Arts Team:
This ministry sees to engage the form of Poetry and Writing in promoting the Christian Message.

Dance Team:
Serve the Lord with your ability to worship God in dance. Work with the creative arts pastor by putting together Choreograph and  Dance with worship banners.

Stage-Works Team:
Use your God-given gifts as a carpenter, painter, and set designer to promote God's Word in a unique, creative, inspiring manner. This team is needed for weekend services as well as seasonal events.

Worship Ministry

WORSHIP MINISTRY TEAMS

Vision
Hosanna Assembly Of God Worship ministry exists to glorify God by leading the people of God into God's presence through anointed praise and worship. Providing music that is varied in style but always inspiring each person to encounter the presence of God in a meaningful and uplifting way. 

Vocal Worship Team
Sing with a dedicated and auditioned group, assisting the Worship Pastor in leading worship for weekend services and special events. This team rehearses weekly. Good harmonizing and vocal leadership skills are needed.

Worship Band
This team assists the Worship Pastor by leading the music at our  11:00 am Worship service. Personnel includes: drums, bass, keys, guitars, percussion, and occasional brass and/or winds and strings. An audition is required. This team rehearses weekly.

Holiday Choirs (Adult, Youth, Children)
Several opportunities each year give us the opportunity to build a multi-voice, multi-generational choir for Christmas, Easter, and several other special days. This  gives you the opportunity to join the choir for 3-4 rehearsals and perform on the corresponding Sunday. No experience is needed -- just a heart of worship and a teachable spirit.

Technical/Multimedia Ministry
Join one of our video, lighting, and audio technician teams, all interacting and serving together during a normal service production. Each job is vital to the overall outcome of the service. Regular crews are scheduled each week. No experience is needed. Training is provided!

Worship Dance Team
Serve the Lord with your ability to worship God in dance. Work with the Worship Pastor by putting together Choreograph and  Dance with worship banners.

Concert of Prayer Ministry

VISION

Hosanna’s prayer ministry is a community of prayer partners who are committed to growing in a life of prayer in order to glorify God by reaching a multicultural people of San Antonio and the world to know Christ, and to raise up a new generations of believers to serve as prayer warriors in the Body of Christ

HOSANNA PRAYER PARTNERS:

This Prayer Ministry is made up of members of Hosanna Church who meet weekly to pray for the needs and ministries of Hosanna Church.

MISSIONARY PRAYER BANDS:

Missionary Prayer Bands are made up of members of Hosanna Church who pray for World Missionaries, Missionary Sending Agencies, Countries around the world  especially in the 10/40 Window. Prayer Bands are organized into regions of the world as follows: Africa, Asia Pacific, Eurasia, Europe, Northern Asia, and Latin America/Caribbean.

PRAYER WALKING:

This Prayer Ministry is made up of members of Hosanna Church who do prayer walking in the community to pray for open hearts and tearing down of strongholds.

PRAYER TRAINING:

The Change the World School of Prayer video Prayer Course is the basic course for training new prayer warriors at Hosanna Church.

Hosanna Church Pastoral Counseling Ministry

VISION

Hosanna Church Pastoral Counseling Ministry seeks to provide Biblical Counseling to individuals, Couples, and families.

PASTORAL COUNSELING SERVICES

Individual Pastoral Counseling:
Pastors at Hosanna Church provide biblical counseling to assist people in resolving issues and promoting spiritual growth of persons.

Crisis Counseling:
Pastors at Hosanna Church provide Crisis counseling to assist individuals in crisis to resolve issues that are causing people to be stuck in their problems and to assist with making choices, and helping a person to identify resources available to help the person move on to independence.

Marriage Counseling:
Pastors at Hosanna Church provide Marital Counseling to help resolve couple conflicts and to promote communication and spiritual maturity in the relationship by using Prevention Relationship Enhancement Program resources.

Pre-Marital Counseling:
Pastor at Hosanna Church provide Pre-marital Counseling through the use of professional instruments such as Prepare-Enrich and Prep Resources to assist couples in preparing a foundation for marriage.
