GLOBAL MISSIONS

In what has come to be called the Great Commission, Jesus told his followers to share his story with the rest of the world. Before he returned to heaven, His last words to his gathered disciples were, "Go and make disciples of all nations."

Hosanna Assembly of God Church is committed to world missions and to the mobilization of people of all ages  to fulfill the Great Commission by praying, by giving and by going. In this effort we affirm the founding declaration of the Assemblies of God when the movement was established in 1914: "We commit ourselves to Him for the greatest evangelism that the world has ever seen." This commitment includes:

• A dependence upon the Holy Spirit for empowerment for effective witness. 
  
• A dedication to developing and sending career missionaries who - having mastered language, developed cultural awareness, and established a permanent presence in a foreign context - are able to reach the spiritually lost with the message of Jesus Christ, to plant indigenous churches after the New Testament pattern, to train leaders to reach their own people and other nations, and to touch poor and suffering people with the compassion of Christ. 
  
• A priority within the local church upon prayer, financial support of missions, sending missionaries to the world, and direct engagement through short-term outreaches.

Hosanna Church is privileged to be a part of the Assemblies of God World Missions program and to prayerfully and financially support a wonderful team of missionaries that is the leading edge of the growth of the Kingdom. Missionaries are featured at our annual missions conference and in monthly Missions Windows during Sunday morning services. Distributed monthly also is the World Missions edition of The Pentecostal Evangel, which describes the vital work of our missionaries around the world.

Prayer Makes It Work

The task of world evangelization begins with prayer: Prayer for those who are presently engaged in missionary service and for the calling and sending of new Missionaries to the harvest fields. We invite you to be part of the Hosanna Missionary Prayer Bands which are organized into regions of the world: Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, Eurasia, Northern Asia and Latin America - Carribean.

Getting Involved

For those interested in direct involvement, Hosanna Church  has developed partnerships with Missionaries, Churches and Mission Organizations. Short-term teams will be visiting foreign countries to participate in community outreach and targeted development projects. There are also many opportunities for short-term involvement through Missions Abroad Placement Program (MAPS).
